"ASC Plays a Sold Out Loft"

On November 15, ASC, a band made up entirely of Dover High School Students, opened at a sold out show for Don't Look Down, Allister, and The Riddlin' Kids at The Loft in Poughkeepsie, NY.
ASC, made up of Jason Maffucci, Andrew Meunier, Steve Miller, and Alex Yerks, held high expectations of themselves before the start of the show. One glance out of a window of the second-story Loft showed an anxious crowd eagerly awaiting the start of the show as they stood on line on Main Street. "I was amazed at how many people came out for the show," commented Maffucci, the bassist and vocalist for the band.
After a delayed set up due to a late sound technician, ASC was tuned up and ready to play. As the doors opened, apprehensive fans began teeming into the club. "I think that the guys are all really excited for this show," said John Schildbach, the manager of the band.
Not long after the crowd was packed tightly into The Loft, ASC began to play what turned out to be an fast-paced and energetic set, despite some technical difficulties. Throughout the set, Maffucci's microphone flickered on and off due to a mistake on the part of the venue's sound technician. Nevertheless, the band overcame the technical problem, and was able to pump up the crowd with their catchy guitar riffs and lively stage presence. "I think we held our own," said Maffucci, "and I had a blast." "The guys worked extremely hard, and I am proud of them," commented Schildbach. When asked how the show would effect the band's fan base, drummer Steve Miller commented, "Things can only progress."
Many Dover students turned out for the show, and all were impressed by ASC. "They played really well, and were probably the best band there," said Frank Mahoney, ASC supporter and drummer for the Model Citizens.
Dover students were not the only ones impressed with ASC's performance. "I thought those guys rocked," said Dustin Stroud, the lefty-guitarist for the Riddlin' Kids. "It's awesome to see people come out and support their local music scene." Ryan Kinle from the Getaway, a local band who was recently signed to Epitaph Records, commented, "These guys have a lot of potential."
The day after, November 16, ASC took second place at a battle of the bands sponsered by Reality Check and WRRV. So what lies ahead for ASC? "The guys are currently looking to go to the studio to record their first full-length, feature album," said Schildbach. On December 27, ASC will be playing at Club Culture in Chester, NY, and asks Dover fans for their support.

"ASC took the stage next and as usual, put on an excellent show. In addition, although the band did not think their expectations for the show were met, they had a good time. In a brief conversation with the singer, he stated that his inspirations include "The Goonies" and his girlfriend. He also included that he likes long walks on the beach and caused everyone around to burst out in laughter."
